Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up to play?

Go to the 'Register' page to find directions on how to register your player. Payment can be submitted in person with cash, check or credit card at a registration event or we can send you a link to pay online.

How much does it cost to play?

The registration fee is $295 for the season. Each player's cost covers the league's player fee, equipment updates, uniforms, facility rentals and storage fees. All coaches and board members are volunteers and do not receive payment for their time and service to the team and players.

What determines what team you're placed on?

You will play in an age division with similar players of your age. Ages are determined by the age of the players by July 31 of that year.

What is the practice schedule?

Practices for the fall season start on Aug 1 at 5:30pm at the Prune Hill Sports Park.We have practices each weekday in August, 5:30-7:30pm. Based on Pop Warner rules, each player must complete 20 hours of conditioning training before they can take the field or participate in stunting for cheer. We know you have a busy summer and might be absent for some of the practices - which is why we have practice each day to help everyone complete their 20 hours. After school starts, practices will be 2-3 times per week depending on age. Practice schedules will be decided based on which team and coach your player is with. See the calendar for more information as the season progresses.

What is the game schedule?

The game schedule is set by the Greater NW Conference league and is a complicated process to ensure all teams can participate each week. The schedule is released in late August and is subject to change based on field availability and team eligibility. Most games are on Sundays with a few exceptions depending on field location. Games are often played in Camas, Vancouver, Battle Ground, or Kelso. Games hosted by the Camas Jets take place at the Doc Harris Stadium. See the calendar for more information as the season progresses.

What are the academic requirements for participation?

Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is the only national youth sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play. We believe that the standards we have set give these children a sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life. Proof of satisfactory progress in school is required. A 2.0/70% or the equivalent shall be the minimum grade point average acceptable to participate. Those who do not meet this requirement, or home-schooled students can still play if they follow the alternative eligibility process which is monitored by progress reports.

Is participation in Pop Warner safe?

Pop Warner has a long history of providing a safe environment for all of our members. Kids compete with kids of similar age and size. Pop Warner is the ONLY youth football program (local, regional and national) that sets and enforces a strict Age & Weight Matrix that reduces the risk and reality of injuries. Datalys Institute’s research data show that Pop Warner Rules and Heads-Up Football Training result in injury rate that has 87% fewer injuries than non-Heads-Up/non Pop Warner programs.

How do I volunteer for the Camas Jets?

Volunteers are an important part of the Camas Jets football and cheer program. All Pop Warner programs are required to conduct background checks of Coaches, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players and/or spirit participants. The purpose of these background checks is, first and foremost, to protect the children. To learn more, visit the Background Check page.
